SME Owners Mental Health and Support

Entrepreneurs are more open to connecting with professionals than ever before.

Entrepreneurs are increasingly open to mental health support, with 90% expressing willingness to seek help. Yet, only 31% have reached out to a professional in the past two weeks. Why the gap?

  1. Cost: Many startups struggle with tight budgets, making therapy sessions financially challenging. As a result, entrepreneurs may delay seeking help due to financial constraints.

  2. Uncertainty: Navigating mental health services can be overwhelming. Entrepreneurs often face uncertainty about available resources, insurance coverage, and finding suitable providers, hindering their ability to seek support.

  3. Stigma: Despite progress, there's still a stigma surrounding mental health discussions in the startup world. Entrepreneurs may feel uncomfortable or vulnerable discussing their struggles, fearing judgment or repercussions.

To address these barriers, we must continue destigmatizing mental health discussions and increase awareness. We’ve seen so much change in how we talk about mental health in the startup world, let’s use that momentum to break down these barriers!
